There is a lot of niches that you can choose before pursuing your freelancing career. As a Virtual Assistant, you have to think of it first so that you can target what market you will enter.

How to find you niche before Freelancing?

Tip #1 - Skills that you already have

Some of us already have worked in a company and acquired different skillsets before deciding to pursue freelancing. You also use that to use advantage. As for my experience, I used to work as a Customer Service Representative in a Logistics company in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for over 6 years where I handle back-office tasks such as Data Entry, Email, and Phone Support. A lot of clients are searching for Virtual Assistants who know how to do the same tasks the same as mine. You can use that to your advantage.

Tip #2 - Add more of your skills

Let's just say you already have 3 skills and you know it's not enough to attract a client so you want to learn other skills. Aline it with what you already have. Before acquiring a new skill, know first what's next. For example, you want to work in Data Entry, Email, and Phone Support, since it is already a Virtual Assistant who specializes in Administrative Tasks, you can add a skill like, Calendar management, Email Management,

Tip #3 - Learn through Training

There are a lot of schools out there who teaches different niches. But the one I really like is Surge Digital Agency. They don't just teach you how to learn a specific skill. They also teach and guide you how to build your portfolio, how to set up and establish your freelancing career from zero to hero! I am currently learning how to be a General Virtual Assistant and by this month of March I will going to be certified! Thanks to Coach Grace and her team, they already help a lot of freelancers, and still growing!
